// OVERVIEW

The Relay ("we", "our", "us") is a product of Cause Connect Pte. Ltd., a company in Singapore. The Relay is one product: an Android app and a Mac app that work as a pair. This policy covers both apps and this website (gettherelay.app). It explains what data is involved, where it goes, and your rights.

The short version: what you move between your phone and your Mac (clipboard, files, messages, notifications, calls, camera, screen) travels directly between your devices over your own network and never reaches our servers. There are no accounts. The Android app sends crash reports and usage statistics only if you turn on "Share diagnostics", which is off by default. This website uses analytics only if you accept them.

// DATA THAT STAYS ON YOUR DEVICES

To do its job, the Android app asks for permissions on your phone. Everything it reads is sent only to your paired Mac, directly over your local Wi-Fi network (or Bluetooth when Wi-Fi isn't available). We never see, store, or have access to any of it:

>Clipboard: text, images and links you copy, to share one clipboard between your devices
>Files and storage: files you browse or transfer; all-files access lets your Mac browse the phone's storage
>SMS: incoming messages and one-time codes, shown and copied on your Mac; messages you choose to send from your Mac are sent through your phone
>Calls, call log and contacts: incoming calls, your recent calls, and your contacts (names, numbers and photos), so you can see and handle calls, browse call history and pick contacts on your Mac
>Notifications: notifications from your phone's apps, mirrored to your Mac (notification access)
>Links: pages you share between your devices
>Camera and microphone: streamed to your Mac only while you use the phone as a webcam or microphone
>Screen and remote control: your phone's screen is streamed to your Mac only while you use screen mirroring; the accessibility service is used only to pass your Mac's clicks and typing to the phone during that session
>Device status: battery, storage and similar status shown in the Mac app

The connection between your devices is encrypted end-to-end with TLS, using keys generated on your devices during pairing and never shared with us. Pairing details, settings and a cached copy of your subscription status are stored only on your devices.

// NO ACCOUNTS

The Relay does not have user accounts. You do not sign in to use the Mac app or the Android app, and we do not create an account, profile, or license record for you on our servers.

// PAYMENTS AND SUBSCRIPTIONS

The Relay is one subscription through Google Play that covers your phone and your Mac, with a 7-day free trial. The subscription is bought in the Android app; the Mac app has no separate charge.

>Subscriptions are purchased, billed, renewed, cancelled, and refunded through Google Play
>Your payment details are collected and processed by Google under Google's own terms and privacy policy
>The Android app checks your subscription status with Google Play on your phone; we do not store payment information or purchase records on our servers

// OPTIONAL DIAGNOSTICS (ANDROID APP)

The Android app has a "Share diagnostics" setting. It is off by default. If you turn it on, the app sends the following to Google Firebase, which we use to find crashes and see which features are used:

>Crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics): the error and where it happened in the app, app version, device model, Android version, and a random installation ID
>Usage statistics (Firebase Analytics): which feature was used and in which direction (for example, "file sent from phone to Mac"), app version, device model, Android version, approximate country, and a random app-instance ID

Diagnostics never include the content of your messages, files, clipboard, notifications, calls or contacts. You can turn the setting off at any time; the app then stops sending diagnostics.

// UPDATES AND APP STORE SERVICES

>Mac app updates: the Mac app checks gettherelay.app for a newer version a few times a day. Like any web request, this reveals your IP address and the app version to our web host; we do not use it to identify you
>Google Play: the Android app uses Google Play to offer in-app updates and to occasionally ask for a rating. These run through Google Play on your phone under Google's privacy policy

// THIS WEBSITE

Analytics, only with your consent. When you first visit, we ask whether you accept analytics. Only if you accept do we load:

>Google Analytics: pages visited, how you arrived, approximate location, device and browser type
>Microsoft Clarity: how pages are used, including clicks, scrolling and session replays, to improve the site's design. What you type into the contact form is masked and never recorded

These services set cookies (such as _ga, _clck and _clsk). If you decline, they are not loaded and no analytics cookies are set. Your choice is stored in your browser, and you can change it at any time in .

Hosting. Our web host keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and the page requested) for security and to keep the site running.

// CONTACT FORM

When you send us a message through the contact form, we collect:

>Email address: so we can reply to you
>Category and message: what you wrote to us, and an optional star rating
>Attachment: if you add one, the file is emailed to our support inbox; we store only its file name alongside your submission

We store contact submissions in our database and use them only to respond to you and to improve The Relay. Submissions are delivered to our support inbox using Amazon SES.

// HOW WE USE DATA, AND OUR LEGAL BASIS

>To answer your messages (to take the steps you asked for)
>To fix crashes and improve the apps, using diagnostics you chose to share (your consent)
>To understand how this website is used, using analytics you accepted (your consent)
>To keep the website secure and running (our legitimate interest)

We do not sell or rent your personal data, and we do not share it with third parties for advertising.

// SERVICE PROVIDERS

>Google Play: app distribution, subscriptions, billing, refunds, in-app updates and ratings
>Google Firebase: crash reports and usage statistics, only if you turn on diagnostics
>Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity: website analytics, only if you accept them
>Amazon Web Services (SES): delivering contact form messages to our support inbox
>Our web hosting and database providers: running this website and storing contact form submissions

These providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States. Where the law requires it, we rely on safeguards such as the providers' standard contractual clauses.

// DATA RETENTION

>Contact form submissions: kept for as long as needed to handle your request and follow up on it, then deleted. You can ask us to delete them at any time and we will do so within 30 days
>Diagnostics: Crashlytics keeps crash reports for 90 days; usage statistics are kept for no longer than 14 months
>Website analytics: kept for no longer than 14 months in Google Analytics, and under Microsoft Clarity's standard retention

// YOUR RIGHTS

Depending on where you live, you have the right to:

>Access the personal data we hold about you
>Ask us to correct or delete it
>Get a copy of it in a portable format
>Object to or restrict how we use it
>Withdraw consent at any time: turn off "Share diagnostics" in the Android app, or change your choice in
>Complain to your local data protection authority

For anything about your subscription or payment, including cancellation and refunds, use Google Play. For everything else, email support@gettherelay.app. We reply within 30 days.

// CHILDREN

The Relay is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

// CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this policy. We will post the new version on this page and change the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will also say so on this website or in the apps.
