Samsung Flow for Mac: is there one?

·5 min read

No. Samsung Flow does not have a Mac version. Samsung's own support pages, checked on 25 October 2026, list the devices that support Samsung Flow as Windows tablets and PCs, Android tablets, and Android phones, and they do not mention macOS. Microsoft's Link to Windows, which comes preinstalled on some phones, including Samsung's, needs a Windows PC as well. On a Mac, a Galaxy owner gets the same jobs done with a mix of other tools: Quick Share to AirDrop for files on recent Galaxy models, Google Messages for web for texts, and a continuity app for notifications and the clipboard.

Publisher note: The Relay publishes this guide and is one of the products discussed. Details about other products come from each maker's own pages, checked on 25 October 2026. Prices and features change, so confirm before you buy.

What is Samsung Flow?

Samsung describes Flow as software for "a seamless, secure, connected experience across your devices." Its Hong Kong support page, last updated 25 February 2026, and the app's Google Play listing, updated 4 September 2026, list what it does:

  • Sign in to your tablet or PC using the phone.
  • Share content between devices.
  • Sync notifications and view content from the phone on the tablet or PC.
  • Turn on the phone's mobile hotspot to keep the tablet or PC online.

The Play listing's permissions section adds that, with optional permissions, Flow can answer and decline calls and receive and reply to texts on the tablet or computer, and that it uses the phone's microphone during Smart View.

One feature has gone. The Play listing says "The PC unlock function is no longer provided because the Windows policy has changed."

Which computers does Samsung Flow support?

This is the list Samsung gives, word for word in substance on both the Hong Kong page and the Play listing:

DeviceRequirement Samsung lists
Windows tablet or PCWindows 10 Creators Update (V1703) and June patch build (15063.413)
Android tabletAndroid N or newer
Android phoneAndroid N or newer

There is no row for a Mac. Samsung's Australian setup guide says Flow must be installed on both the phone and the tablet or PC, that it connects over Bluetooth, Wi-Fi or LAN on the same network, or USB, and that the USB option is "only provided for Windows 10 tablets and computers" with phones on Android Q or later. It also says "Samsung Flow is not a server or account-based service." Windows users get the computer app from Microsoft's app store; the Play listing says the same.

Because Samsung lists only Windows and Android, we take its pages at their word: no Mac support. We found no Samsung page that says a Mac version is coming.

No. Link to Windows is the phone half of Microsoft's Phone Link. Microsoft's requirements page asks for "A PC running Windows 10 (with the October 2022 update or later) or Windows 11" and an Android phone on Android 10 or later, and it says the app is preinstalled on some phones, including Samsung's. It does not mention macOS. Our guide to Phone Link for Mac covers this in detail.

So both of the "connect your Galaxy to your computer" apps that Samsung owners hear about are Windows-only.

What can a Galaxy owner use on a Mac instead?

Match the Samsung Flow feature you wanted to the tool that does it on macOS.

A few notes on the free routes:

Files. Samsung's press release of 23 March 2026 brought AirDrop support to Quick Share, starting with the Galaxy S26 series, and says "Share with Apple devices" is on by default. Google's device list now also includes the Galaxy S24 and S25 lines and recent Z Fold and Z Flip models, and Google says Samsung users need that switch turned on. Set AirDrop on the Mac to Everyone, then share from the phone. Steps are in AirDrop from Android to a Mac.

Texts. Google's Messages for web help says you sign in with the same Google Account as on your phone, in Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge, and that it sends SMS through your phone. It needs the Google Messages app on the phone; if your Galaxy uses Samsung Messages, you would switch your default texting app first.

Screen. scrcpy is free and open source and mirrors and controls the phone from a Mac, but it needs USB debugging turned on. See mirror Android to a Mac.

When is The Relay the better fit?

If the reason you wanted Samsung Flow is to stop picking up the phone while you work, several of those rows land on one app. The Relay is an Android app and a Mac app that pair with a QR code and talk over your own Wi-Fi, with Bluetooth as a fallback. It syncs the clipboard both ways, shows notifications and incoming calls on the Mac, copies login codes from texts, moves files, hands links across, and makes the phone a webcam. It works with any phone on Android 8.0 or later, Galaxy or not, and needs macOS 13 Ventura or later.

It does not do everything Flow lists. It cannot reply to texts from the Mac (use Google Messages for web), it does not mirror the screen (use scrcpy), and it has no hotspot control. The Relay is one subscription through Google Play that covers your phone and your Mac, with a 7-day free trial.
